Hello & Welcome to the YUMS website...
YUMS - YOUNG UNITED BY MUTLIPLE SCLEROSIS is a group for young people affected by Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in Kent.
Young people with MS face many specific hurdles like the decision to enter into a long term relationship, leave home, take on a mortgage, have children, career decisions and difficulties sometimes coping with children after they are born owing to fatigue and more serious disabilities.
A group of young people, whose lives are affected by MS, have joined forces with local MS specialists in the Kent region and the MS Society, to help young people with MS in Kent to meet, chat and have some fun. The YUMS team are building a supportive and informal environment to help young people with MS access the support and information they want; when they want and how they want.

Mission Statement
“YUMs have a strong commitment to supporting young people affected by MS. We have successfully built links with the local MS Society branches, as well as healthcare professionals and volunteers, since our initiation.
Our mission is to work in partnership with all the local branches within the Kent region and provide a social and informative network of support for young people, whilst encouraging those to meet others in similar situations and circumstances. As a young person affected by MS we would like to, not only, promote new friendships but support you with any issues or experiences you’re going through.”
